SKYDIVE FUNDRAISING EVENT FOR CHARITY EACH

In October 2023, Connells Survey & Valuation were asked to join forces with The New Homes Group (a sister company within the Connells Group) to undertake a skydive in aid of a fantastic charity, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH).  A team of 20 colleagues from S&V joined forces and, on 7 September, the big day of the Skydive came.  The event has been a tremendous success and, between the two companies, almost £50,000 has been raised for this fantastic charity.

Everyone who took part agreed that the jump itself was the most amazing, exciting and exhilarating experience imaginable, although the flight up[ to the drop zone was pretty quiet!  Some of the jumpers were wound up more than others by their instructor, but it seems everyone would enthusiastically repeat the experience.  It took around 15 minutes for the plane to ascend to 13,000 feet (2 ½ miles up!) where the divers were effectively man/woman handled out of the plane, strapped to their instructor, and left to free-fall for about 1 ½ miles at 120 mph, for around 45 seconds.

Arriving back at the centre, feeling an unbelievable buzz, the divers were greeted with cheers from a sea of family, friends, colleagues (S&V and TNHG) and EACH representatives; all telling their tales of the experience.  The dive was amazing, but the generous support received added significantly to the enjoyment of the day, making it a real party.

There are a great many people to thank for this event and an enormous amount of work has gone into it.  Generating a minimum of £750 in donations, in order to jump, is no mean feat – but everyone who has taken part managed it, and had the courage to take part.  There were also many colleagues, family, friends, clients and business partners who were extremely generous with their donations.  A huge THANK YOU to everyone who supported the event.

We are lucky enough to have some generous clients and suppliers who made significant contributions.  Thank you to CoreLogic, Dudley Building Society, Furness Building Society, Landmark, LiveMore and Principality Building Society for their support.

Without losing the focus, EACH are so grateful for all the money raised which will help them continue with the extraordinary work that they do in caring for very sick (often terminally) children and their families from all over the UK.

A massive thank you to everyone involved in making this the success it was.
